The CallMe™ Service

If the country your employee is trying to make a phone call from does not have a Freephone Access Number listed, they can simply dial the CallMe™ number on +44 20 7989 5555 and ask the operator to place their call via the CallMe™ service.

The operator will take the customer’s details and call back to connect them to the first number they wish to call. The caller can then make as many follow on calls as they like, provided they are calling from a touch tone phone.

There is no extra charge for this service. The cardholder simply pays for the initial call to the CallMe™ number. The low Global Calling Card™ rates will then apply to all the subsequent calls. Alternatively if your employee knows where they will be staying they can book the CallMe™ number before they travel to pre-book the times for their CallMe™ calls.

Calling from hotels

Significant savings can be made when calling from a hotel. Your employee must first follow the hotel instructions to obtain an outside line before making the connection to the Global Calling Card™. Some hotels may make a small access charge for calling freephone numbers. The customer should check first with the hotel on the charges applied.

In rare cases, hotels may block freephone numbers. If this happens your employee should use the CallMe™ service (see above). The World Telecom operator will call them back immediately and connect them to the Global Calling Card™ service.

WorldMessaging

The person being called may be out or engaged. If so, a voice message can be recorded that will automatically be transmitted to the intended recipient via the service.

If there is no reply or the number is engaged, your employee needs to press *# as if they were making a follow on call and then press 2 to send a message. Your employee’s name and a message can be recorded for the person they are trying to contact. The service will keep trying the number every half an hour, for up to three hours with the message. The call rates for this service are set out in the Rate Sheet that can be found in Section 3 of this information pack.

Note: This service is only available to and from a touch tone phone.

WorldDirectory

The Global Calling Card™ service allows 49 short codes to be programmed into the personal telephone directory. This allows frequently called numbers to be dialled at the touch of just two or three keys, instead of the full number sequence. These can be set up by your employee themselves and can change them at any time from any touch tone phone.

To programme the personal directory, simply press the * key when asked for the number your employee wishes to call. Then press 3 for ‘personal options’ and follow the simple prompts. A voice annotation can be recorded for each short code.

To use a short code, simply enter it, followed by # when asked for the number they wish to call. The cardholder can listen to the directory of their numbers at any time by pressing 0#.
